These days, Rachel is writing about book culture (with a focus of kidlit and queer fiction) for Book Riot. She is also a contributing writer for Inside Vancouver, where she interviews amazing artists about their work.
Previously, Rachel helped found the now-defunct website YUL.Buzz with Britanny Burr (Head Writer) and Matthew Turgeon (Owner), contributing to determining the website content, formulating the mission statement, providing an editorial voice and participating in the hiring of the writers. She regularly maintained the Editorial Calendar and also helped prepare the Editorial Guidelines, Authors Packages and Website Maintenance documents for YUL.Buzz.
She also has experience in copyediting, updating blog posts and using social media to promote events.
Rachel writes fiction, memoir-style nonfiction, article nonfiction, book reviews and, frankly, if you need her to she could definitely write an accessible TV remote manual. She loves a new challenge and is willing to try most things at least three-to-six times.
